As always, Brisbane’s hospo folk have been hard at work cooking, creating and serving up delicious eats that make our hearts warm and bellies full. From James Street’s new residents to TikTok famous matcha spin-offs, we have lots to fill you in on so pull up a seat and devour all the latest foodie news in Brisbane.

This March, James St welcomes its newest resident ēmmē, a charcoal and wood-fire-centric restaurant bringing Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired eats to the high-profile street. Founded by ex-Greca Chef  Thomas Lian Tze, ēmmē will live in the previous home of Spoon Deli Cafe and will offer breakfast and lunch to begin with, eventually expanding into dinner. Bringing a new style of dining to James St, Emme will be showcasing a more laid-back yet sophisticated dining experience where good times are promised. This is the hottest new kid on the block so keep your eyes peeled for its opening!

A Cafe Called Kevin

New Farm welcomes a new member to its leafy streets, a cafe serving up farm-to-table dishes from a restored Queenslander on Brunswick Street. Can it get more Brisbane than that? A Cafe Called Kevin, owned by two hospo stars, is the new foodie hotspot in New Farm to get your dose of fresh, delicious bites. With all produce sourced from the cafe’s own farm in Kurwongbah (just under an hour away from the cafe), visitors can expect the highest quality produce. The menu features beloved classics with a twist, keeping this simple yet undeniably tasty. Did we mention that it’s open 360 days a year? No more umming and ahhing on where to eat on public holidays – hooray!

Menu sneak peek: turkish eggs with garlic yoghurt and paprika butter and wild mushrooms on toast with za’atar. Must we go on?
