Style Book Club: 8 Novels We’re Loving ATM
Heya bookworms!
Another month, another book club! Welcome to the Style Book Club where we reflect on our favourite finds of the month. From old books we finally got around to reading, new ones flying off shelves to books turned hit-Netflix series (we’re talking about you One Day), we are reading and lovin’ every page of it.
Whether you’re reading in a quiet cafe (looking very mysterious and sophisticated might we add), or lounging outside soaking up the last of the summer swelter, we’ve rounded up our favourite finds of the month that we think you’ll love.
Get a load of what we’ve been reading in our list below!
One Day
By David Nicholls
An absolutely soul-destroying love story set on the same day every year for 20 years. The book is way better than the already amazing Netflix series. – Teagan
Beautiful World, Where Are You
By Sally Rooney
Although this book isn’t heart-wrenching, soppy, or about anything in particular, it shows that life happens in the mundane moments when we’re all just trying to figure it out. – Stamatina
The Housemaid
By Freida McFadden
Never have I ever read a book that’s kept me so engaged. It’s a rollercoaster full of twists and turns. Even got my boyfriend, a non-reader, to read this book and he couldn’t put it down (this is a huge win for me). – Bianca
Magnolia Parks
By Jessa Hastings
This modern version of Star-crossed Lovers will keep you on your toes in the best way. Think Sex and the City meets Gossip Girl with the perfect dose of drama and fashion. – Sarah
Anna: The Biography
By Amy Odell
I found this biography super intriguing, offering a rare look into Anna Wintour’s super private life. A must-read for anyone interested in the fashion industry and Anna’s influence within it. – Natalie
Essentialism
By Greg Mckeown
For leaders, managers, or individuals who want to learn how to do less but better in every area of their lives. – Silvio
Man’s Search for Meaning
By Viktor E. Frankl
A survivor of the Holocaust, take the remarkable journey on how even in the darkest hour of your life, you can still find hope and greater meaning. – Valentine
The Moon Sign Guide
By Annabel Gat
As someone who studies astrology, I’m always looking for more information on each planet and placement. This book goes in DEEP about each Moon sign – she’s informative, and the illustrations are also top-tier. – Lauren
Blood Meridian
Cormac McCarthy
Exquisitely crafted, this modern epic depicts a blood-soaked journey into the darkest corners of the American Old West following the journey of a nameless narrator as he journeys with a hunting party in pursuit of a diabolical villain known only as the Judge. – Charlie
